Wayne Rodery

Wayne Rodery, son of the late Joe Rodery and Ethel Mae George Rodery, was born at Clay County, Ark., on March 21, 1923, and died in the Malden Nursing Center on Friday, May 28, 2004, at the age of 81.

Mr. Rodery attended the Nazarene Church of Bernie and lived in Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Helen Marie Blevins on Dec. 20, 1947, at St. Louis. She preceded her husband in death on March 13, 1990.

He is survived by three sons, Darrell Rodery of Bernie, Kenneth Rodery of Wappapello, and Timothy Rodery of Bernie; two daughters, Brenda Caplinger of Parma and Karen Lynn Hunter of Rolla; three brothers, Hillard Rodery of Cartersville, Ga., Laverne Rodery of Campbell, and Carlos Rodery of Brighton, Mich.; one sister, Anna Lee Nichols of Piggott, Ark.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Other than by his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Rodery; and one grandson.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2004, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, June 1, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Wells officiating.

Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery with full military honors.
