Sheldon McGregor, son of the late Hadley and Cosa Swanner McGregor, was born in Massillon, Ohio, on Jan. 14, 1945, and died with his family at his side at the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis on Monday, June 14, 2004, at the age of 59.
Mr. McGregor had lived in Michigan before moving to Puxico five years ago. He moved to Ferguson. He was the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Granite City, Ill. He held a Ph.D. in genetics.
On Jan. 26, 1974, he was married to Kay Lee in Puxico.
Surviving are his wife, Kay McGregor of Ferguson; two sons, Todd McGregor of Zalma and Wade McGregor of Puxico; one daughter, Dara Alexander of Ferguson; four grandchildren; and one brother, Eddie McGregor of Oxford, Mich.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Shannon McGregor.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with Rev. Ron Lambert of Edwardsville, Ill., Rev. Harlem Burrows of Ferguson, Rev. Clarence Jackson of Florissant, and Rev. Fred Ritter of Marble Hill officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
