Dora Bates Warren

Dora Bates Warren, daughter of the late James Sylvester Bates and Martha Emeline English Bates, was born at Bernie on June 26, 1918, and died Friday, June 18, 2004, in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 85.

Ms. Warren was a homemaker and a member of the Bernie United Methodist Church and lived in Bernie.

She is survived by one son, Michael Joe Warren of Bernie; two daughters, Marilyn Kay Stinson of New Haven, and Karen Warren of Bernie; one sister, Nadine Tallent of Lompoc, Calif.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Bates and Robert Bates; and one sister, Alma Beaird.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
