Laverne Lovett, daughter of the late John Edward Pratt and Alta Tyler Pratt, was born on May 7, 1929, at Gray Ridge and died in her residence at Dexter on Friday, July 2, 2004, at the age of 75.

Mrs. Lovett was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church, a former employee of Brown Shoe Company at Charleston, and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Charles Ray Lovett on Nov. 9, 1974, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Lovett preceded her in death on April 4, 1989.

Survivors include one brother, James Pratt of Republic; and her friend and caretaker, Betty Carlton,

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Everett Pratt, Elmer Pratt, Tommy Pratt and Leland Pratt; and three sisters, Jewell Blevins, Evah Williams, and Carmeline England.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary England officiating.

Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
