Doyle Ray Pitts, 48, of West Plains, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, in Cox Medical Center South at Springfield.
Mr. Pitts was born May 11, 1956, at Houston, the son of the late Leonard and Ethel Craig Pitts.
He graduated from the Summersville High School in 1974, attended the School of the Ozarks and received his Master's Degree from William Woods College.
On June 7, 1982, Mr. Pitts was married at Alton to Elizabeth "Louise" Frost.
Mr. Pitts had been a teacher and coach for 27 years, having been employed by the Alton School system for 17 years, the Liberty High School at Mountain View for one year, Richland School for two years and West Plains R-7 School for seven years.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Pitts, of the family home; three children, James Ray Pitts, West Plains, Ashley Raye Pitts and Holly Nicole Pitts, both of the family home; and one brother, Chloe Pitts.
Mr. Pitts is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dale Pitts.
He was of the Baptist faith with his membership in the First Baptist Church of West Plains.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at the First Baptist Church, West Plains.
Interment followed in the Summersville Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
