Clara Mabel Grissom, daughter of the late Homer McGuire and Pearl Rogers McGuire, was born on Aug. 2, 1917, at Evening Shade, Ark., and departed this life in the Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau on July 14, 2004, at the age of 86.
Mrs. Grissom was a member of the Faith Fellowship in Dexter, a homemaker and a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to Floyd Edmond Grissom on Jan. 31, 1941, at Melbourne, Ark. Mr. Grissom preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2002.
Survivors include two sons, William Edmond Grissom of Dexter and Donald Jack Grissom of Cat Spring, Texas; one daughter, Pansy Dowden of Greenwood, Ind.; one brother, Don McGuire of Marion, Ark.; one sister, Mavis Powell of Marion, Ind.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, H.A. McGuire and Dub McGuire; and one sister, Irene Marlin.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Karen Oldham officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
