Johnette Parks Campbell

Johnette Parks Campbell, the daughter of the late Elmer F. and Edith Bell Parks, was born in Formosa, Ark., on Dec. 4, 1930, and died at her home in Parma on Saturday, July 17, 2004, at the age of 73.

Mrs. Campbell had lived in Parma for many years and had also lived in the Kewanee and Lilbourn communities. She was a member of the Parma Church of Christ.

On Jan. 10, 1948, she was married to Ira M.D. Campbell in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1987.

Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Medlin and Karan Byrd, both of New Madrid, and Lisa Bartlett of Parma; three sons, Ira Michael Campbell of Sikeston, Gary Lynn Campbell and John Paul Campbell, both of Parma; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Parks of Indiana; three sisters, Sheila Crutchley of Cape Girardeau, Yvonne Denton of Chicago, Ill., and Yvette Terrell of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Willie Parks; one sister, Elaine Dufer; and three grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2004, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma with Bro. Pat Hogan of Sikeston officiating.

Interment followed in the Mounds Park Cemetery near New Madrid with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.
