Novella Kathern Nelson

Novella Kathern Nelson, 83, a resident of Holcomb, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Piggott Community Hospital.

She was the daughter of William Allen Neal and Clara Emma Lowery Neal.

On Nov. 24, 1935, she was united in marriage to Robert Edward Nelson at Forty and Eight, Ark. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1997.

She was a homemaker and a teacher's aid for Head Start for three years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.

Survivors include seven daughters, Nancy Robinson of Campbell, Juanita Rees of Gordonville, Linda Shaw of Poplar Bluff, Patricia Burton of Campbell, Hope Schurman of Arnold, Pamela Porter of Taneyville, and Diane Ellison of Perryville; four sons, David Nelson of West Memphis, Rick Nelson of Campbell, Tim Nelson of Yellville, Ark., and Jim Nelson of St. Francis, Ark.; 38 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Omga Lovette of Round Lake, Ill., Berniece Gardner of Circle City, and Sue Maulding of Festus.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Nelson and Ricky Nelson; one granddaughter; three brothers, James Neal, Billy Neal and Jessie Neal; and one sister, Jean Evans.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2004, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell with Rev. Luther Crane officiating.

Interment followed in the Loyd Cemetery in Holcomb.
