Dale Lawrence, the son of the late Carl Eugene and Oma Agnes McClard Lawrence, was born in Pyle Town on April 24, 1933, and died at this home in Bernie on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at the age of 71.

Mr. Lawrence had lived in Bernie since 1971 and had lived in the surrounding area all his life. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Bird's Corner Assembly of God Church near Dexter.

On June 20, 1962, he was married to Carol Mason in Dexter.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Lawrence of Bernie; one daughter, Linda Gail Powell of Bernie; and one sister, Dorlus Tucker of Dexter.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Lawrence.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Jeff Gowan of Collinsville, Ill., and the Rev. Elbert Mason of Irondale officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter. Watkins & Sons Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the A.R.C. in Dexter. Donation envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home.
