Thelma Gaines Wilburn

Thelma Gaines Wilburn, the daughter of the late Charles and Dovie Forkum Kinser, was born in Bernie on Oct. 29, 1935, and died at the Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter on July 26, 2004, at the age of 68.

Mrs. Wilburn had lived in Dexter for many years. She was retired from the International Hat Factory in Dexter. She attended the Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter.

On April 28, 1972, she was married to Floyd Gaines. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1981. On Aug. 26, 1983, she was married to Ray Wilburn. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1996.

Surviving are one brother, Edgar Kinser of Dexter; and one sister, Louise Jones of Dexter.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Watson and one sister, Lovetta McCrary.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2004, at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Weldon Jones of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
