Richard Clay Greer, son of Chloia Sparks Greer and the late Everett Greer, was born on May 14, 1947, at Canalou and died in the Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital North Campus on Friday, July 30, 2004, at the age of 57.

Mr. Greer was a resident of Bernie.

He is survived by his mother, Chloia Greer of Bernie; two sons, Chris Maddox and Shannon Maddox, both of Anderson, Ind.; two daughters, Roxy Diane Bartlett of Kentucky and Melanie Ann Greer of Indiana; two brothers, Donald Greer and James Greer, both of Bernie; and eight grandchildren.

Besides his father, Everett Greer, he was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Mikesell.

Visitation was held from 12:30-2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie.

Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
