Dixie Harty, daughter of the late Blythe Willis Jennings and Lydia Graber Jennings, was born on Oct. 1, 1918, at Star City and died in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on Friday, July 30, 2004, at the age of 85.
Mrs. Harty was a member of the Southwest Church of Nazarene, housewife and seamstress at her home in Dexter.
On Oct. 12, 1941, she was united in marriage to Robert B. Harty in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Harty preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1999.
Survivors include three sons, Robert L. Harty of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kenneth Harty of Graham, Wash., and Dwight Harty of Lenori, Tenn.; one daughter, Beverly Grose of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Carl Jennings of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Francis Harty; seven brothers, Harry Jennings, Charles Jennings, Don Jennings, Warren Jennings, King Lamone Jennings, Bobby Jennings, and Jack Jennings.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Ed Stoner officiating.
Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
