Howard Lee Cooper

Howard Lee Cooper, son of the late Norvel Cooper and Aquilla Stocks Cooper, was born June 29, 1934, at Malden and died in the Malden Nursing and Rehab Center on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at the age of 70.

Mr. Cooper had been a farmer and was a resident of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Catherine Williams on May 3, 1975, at Malden. Mrs. Cooper survives of the home in Bernie.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bruce Cooper of Puxico and Stephen Wayne Williams of Bernie; one daughter, Tammy McCourt of St. Louis; three sisters, Doris Cavin of Jefferson, Wisconsin, Lois Cregg of Eureka,, and Connie Gist of Pacific; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Howard Ray Cooper; and one brother, Verlon Cooper.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Don Cooper officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
