Elza Clay "Al" Forbis

Elza Clay "Al" Forbis, son of William "Johnny" Forbis and Nora L. Jordan Forbis, was born Feb. 10, 1922, at Powe and died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

He was retired from General Motors in Pontiac, Mich. He had been a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II.

He was of the General Baptist faith.

On June 28, 1975, he was united in marriage with Carol See in Michigan.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Forbis of Malden; three step-sons, Terry Bader, James H. Bader, Jr. and William Bader; one brother, Dawsey Forbis of Dexter; two sisters, Rose "Tot" Paddubny of Oxford, Mich., and Gladys Cook of Lapeer, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Naomi Forbis.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Rev. James Black officiating.

Interment will follow in Rosewood First Addition Cemetery at Malden with military rites held at the graveside.
