Harold Hood, son of the late William Ralph and Flora Swindell Hood, was born at Sturdivant on Aug. 8, 1935, and died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at the age of 69 after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Hood was a lifelong resident of Stoddard County. He attended the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield and had been the owner of Hood Used Cars in Bloomfield and Dexter since 1960.

On May 30, 1964, he married Sharon Clayton of Advance who survives. Other survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Angie and Bud Parks and Elizabeth and Ed Wright of Jackson; and one son, Ralph Hood of Bloomfield; three grandsons, Joshua and Logan Parks and Brandon Wright; three step-grandchildren, Ashley and Nicole Parks and Lance Wright; and one brother, Raymond Clois Hood of Cape Girardeau; two nieces, Shelby Mills and Brenda Unsbee; other relatives and many friends survive to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.

Interment will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery.
