Billy Joe "Jody" "Red" Early

Billy Joe "Jody" "Red" Early, son of the late Alvin Lester Early and Ruby Rebecca Gill Early, was born April 13, 1937, at Vinson and died in the DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton on Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at the age of 67.

Mr. Early graduated from Grayridge High School; he served in the United States Army, worked for General Motors for 44 years until his retirement and was a resident of Maryland Heights.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Sue Merick in June 1963 in St. Louis. Mrs. Early survives of the home in Maryland Heights.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Early of Maryland Heights, Lori Pettet of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Greg Early of Chesterfield and Mark Early of Maryland Heights; one sister, Sue Bogle of Morehouse; and four grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Early.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Collier's Funeral Home in Bridgeton with Dr. Ron Winkle officiating.

Interment followed in the Fee Fee Cemetery in Bridgeton.
