Inas Lavelle Young, 81, of Sikeston died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at 5:16 a.m. at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born on Sept. 24, 1922, in Pocahontas, Ark., to the late James and Jenny Hibbard O'Neal. She was a housewife and had been a waitress.

She married Lyndell "Jim" Young on Aug. 15, 1949, in St. Louis, and he survives of the home in Sikeston.

Other survivors include two brothers, Raymond O'Neal of Bloomfield and Glen O'Neal of Jackson, Tenn.; four sisters, Mayme McConnaughhay and Faye Wheeler, both of Flint, Mich., Opal Smith of Jackson, Tenn., and Juanita Rankins of Gray Ridge. Nieces and nephews and great nieces an nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at 7 p.m. at the Olive Branch General Baptist Church in Essex.
