Mr. Campbell was a retired Captain of the United States Marine Corp. He was a helicopter pilot and served two tours of duty in Vietnam where his helicopter was shot down. He received several medals including a Purple Heart and Strike/Flight Air Metal with Bronze Star. Capt. Campbell retired from the Marine Corps in Aug. 1971 and had been a resident of Bloomfield since that time.
Survivors include two sons, Brandon Lee Campbell and Logan Wayne Campbell, both of Bloomfield; three daughters, Desere Clabo of Stewart, Fla., Michelle Moeau of Midana, Tenn., and Catlynn Campbell of Bloomfield; two brothers, Bob Campbell of Bloomfield and Harry Campbell, Jr., of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Linda Campbell of Michigan and Carol Ann Moore of Toledo, Ohio; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Wayne Campbell.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
