She had been a cook at Malden School and a nursing home supervisor. She was of the Baptist faith.
On Oct. 14, 1933, she was united in marriage to Wesley George Shelton, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include six daughters, Georgia Albright of Gulf Shores, Ala., Sue Beall of Malden, Jetty Heide of St. Paul, Minn., Sara Kalkbrenner of Bartlett, Tenn., Melba Lipps of Glendale, Ariz., and Verna Moel of Hollywood, Fla.; two sons, Bruce Shelton of Dexter and Wesley Shelton of Jackson, Miss.; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley Shelton; her son, Dewayne Shelton; and one grandson.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
