Virgie M. LaRue, the daughter of the late Henry and Ella Miller Lanning, was born in Matthews on April 30, 1905, and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at the age of 99.
Mrs. LaRue had lived in Stoddard County all her life and had lived in Bloomfield for many years. She was of the Baptist faith.
On Nov. 23, 1951, she was married to David LaRue in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1986.
Surviving are three sons, Wesley Gibson of Bloomfield, Alvin Gibson of Denver, Colo., and Orville Gibson of Garden City, Miss.; four daughters, Goldie Lafferty of Bloomfield, Dorothy Dyson of Doniphan, Ada Harper of Centertown, and Donnie Warren of New Bloomfield; 30 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four daughters and two sons.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Robert Lafferty of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
