Shirley Zook

Shirley Evelyn Zook, daughter of the late Bernard and Ruth Bowman Holman, was born at Traverse City, Mich., on Feb. 15, 1931, and died at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Sept. 23, 2004, at the age of 73.

Mrs. Zook had been a resident of Glenallen the past 30 years. She was a member of the Trace Creek Baptist Church at Glenallen where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Zook was retired from Paramount Hat Factory in Fredericktown.

On Nov. 12, 1949, she was married to Billy Zook.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Zook of the home in Glenallen; one son, Randy Zook of Bloomfield; three daughters, Vicki Zook of Essex, Ruth Weaver and Sherry Chism, both of Bloomfield; one brother, Jack Holman of Traverse City, Mich.; and one sister, Onahlee Crawford of Traverse City, Mich.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanne Snedeker; and one brother, Thomas Valley.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at Chiles- Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
