Nancy Imogene Barnes

Nancy Imogene Barnes, daughter of the late H.F. Tate, Sr. and Annie Meals Tate, was born Oct. 27, 1927, at Carroll County, Tenn., and died in East Prairie on Sept. 30, 2004, at the age of 76.

Mrs. Barnes was a retiree of Brown Shoe Company of Bernie and of the Baptist faith.

She was united in marriage to Grady Barnes on Oct. 2, 1946, at Corinth, Miss. Mr. Barnes preceded his wife in death on Aug. 7, 2000.

She is survived by one son, Brian K. Barnes of Essex; two daughters, Pat Lambert of East Prairie and Dottie Parrish of Dexter; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, H.F. Tate, Jr. and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Hardin officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
