Lester R. Miller

Lester R. Miller, son of the late George Timothy Miller and Polly Edwards Miller, was born April 15, 1918, at Belleville, Ark., and died inthe Malden Nursing and Rehab Center on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at the age of 86.

Mr. Miller had served in the Bernie National Guard Company G of the 140th Infantry that was activated for active duty in 1940 and had served in the United States Army during World War II. He had also been a farmer and was a resident of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Dimple Zimmerman on May 31, 1941. She survives of the home in Bernie.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronnie Miller and Jerry Miller, both of Bernie; one daughter, Nancy Green of Malden; one brother, Hugh Miller of Michigan; one sister, Alice Mayberry of Dexter; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant son; six brothers; and five sisters.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, with Stan Dauck officiating,

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
