Henry Stevens

William Henry Stevens, son of the late Tony L. Stevens and Birdie Ann Rodgers Stevens, was born on March 4, 1919, at Vinson and died in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at the age of 85.

Mr. Stevens was a farmer, a member of the Vinson General Baptist Church, Parma, and was a resident of the Vinson Community near Parma.

He was united in marriage to Deloris Erwin on Jan. 16, 1939, at Bloomfield. She survives of the home in rural Parma.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Harold Stevens of Wappapello, Robert Stevens and Glen Stevens, both of Bernie, and Danny Stevens of Parma; three daughters, Ruth Tuggle of Evening Shade, Ark., Madline Kordonowy of St. Louis, Brenda Boyle of Beaver Creek, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant son, Dennis Stevens; one brother, James Stevens; and one sister, Lorene Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m.. Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
