Mrs. Hardy was a homemaker and a former resident of Essex and had been residing in Cape Girardeau for the past four years. She had been active in the Cotton Boll Girl Scout Council.
She was united in marriage to James W. Hardy on Nov. 20, 1941, at Dexter. Mr. Hardy preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1994.
Survivors include one daughter, Mila Kay Lohmeier of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Wilson Langley and R.G. Langley, both of Essex; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James William Hardy, Jr.; two brothers, Willie Langley and Harry Langley; three sisters, Wilma Broxterman, Opal Langley and Susie Corlew.
Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19. 2004, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were then conducted at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Pastor henry Geichen officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
