Grandparents of the bridegroom are Ramona Ratley of Dexter and Lee Roy and Betty Minson of Glen Allen.
Presiding as guest book attendants were Toni Hill, sister- in- law of the bride, and Christin Stone, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and Amber Martin, sister of the bride. They greeted family and friends from two twin registry tables draped with the bride's chosen colors of soft pink, white, and black. Ushers for the ceremony were Jeremy Hill, brother of the bride, Matt Duggan and Brett Welch, brothers-in-law of the bride, and family friends, Ryan Lancaster, Jerry Fisher and Wes Howard.
The sanctuary featured a criss-crossed draping of shimmering white fabric from the ceiling to two towering candelabras embellished with soft pink lilies and white tapers. Before the draped fabric sat a floor pedestal holding a large urn filled with palm leaves. A unity candle decorated with sprays of pink lilies sat in front. Alternating guest pews were decorated with silver pew markers accentuated with identical floral arrangements consisting of pink roses and lilies. The arrangements were completed with pink ribbons streaming down the pew markers.
Kristin Komen and Hayley Yeager, sorority sisters of the bride, lit the candles while Maria Chamberlain, family friend of the couple, sang "Household of Faith." A string trio featuring Miriam Brehmer, David Young, and Isaac Enoch played "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" during the seating of the mothers and grandmothers
The trio played "Cannon in D" during the processional of the wedding party. Matrons of honor were the bride's sisters Sarah Welch and Kelly Duggan. Stephanie Simmers, Kristin Jensen, and Megan Galey, sorority sisters of the bride, and Casey Hyten, friend of the bride, were bridesmaids for the ceremony. They wore matching strapless black dresses featuring a trumpet-style hemline and soft pink side panels and carried two long stem pink lilies. The bridesmaids accessorized their dresses with pink Chanel-style pearl necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.
Matt Stone, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Rob Smith, Nick Ives, Kip Klein, and Justin Cain, fraternity brothers of the bridegroom, and Josh Boggess, friend of the couple. The men of the wedding party wore black Ralph Lauren tuxedos with black vests and black ties.
The arrival of the bride was announced by junior bridesmaid Taylor Martin, niece of the bride. She wore a black dress that matched the dresses worn by the bridesmaids. Maycie Martin, Lindsey Young, nieces of the bride, and Savannah Barnes, friend of the bride, dropped rose petals from white satin baskets onto a white aisle runner in preparation for the bride's entrance. The flower girls wore shimmering pink tea-length organza dresses, white gloves, and pink pearls.
Miss Kane was given in marriage by her father. She was attired in a Maggie Sottero creation featuring a full chiffon skirt with a cathedral length train. The halterstyle bodice featured a v-neck accentuated with clear crystals. She wore a crystal tiara in her upswept hair and a waist-length veil featuring a satin pencil edge. Her bouquet consisted of a round hand-tied cluster of pink roses, pink lilies, and stephanotis. Her jewelry consisted of diamond stud earrings, a three-stone diamond pendant, a gift from the bridegroom, and her paternal grandmother's ring worn on her right hand.
Following the giving of the bride, John Hill, step-father of the bride, sang "In This Very Room". Maria Chamberlain sang the "Lord's Prayer" during the lighting of the unity candle. Mrs. Marianne Bruce served as the ceremony's wedding hostess.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at the Dexter Elk's Lodge. The reception hall was beautifully decorated by Patricia Shell, wedding coordinator. Jack and Laura Kinder, aunt and uncle of the bride, Julie and Larry Lancaster, and Cheryl and Dennis Boggess , friends of the couple, greeted guests as they entered the reception. Reception guests dined on hors d'oeuvres and enjoyed the special treat of a chocolate fountain. Guests also enjoyed matching tiered bride and bridegroom wedding cakes featuring the new monogram of the couple.
Following the introduction of the wedding party, Matt Stone and Kelly Duggan toasted the couple. The toast was followed by a photo slideshow by John Hill featuring childhood and recent photos of the bride and groom. The couple danced their first dance as man and wife to Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight". Music for the reception was provided by Pro Music of Sikeston.
Prior to the wedding, the couple enjoyed a memorable engagement party at the home of the groom's parents. The sisters of Alpha Delta Pi held a bridal shower for Laura Lee, the former president, at the chapter house in Springfield. Friends of the couple hosted a bridal shower at Gatherings, and family members hosted a personal shower for the bride at the home of Mrs. Alana Dowdy.
The wedding weekend began with a bridesmaid's luncheon held at Patricia's Tea Room and hosted by Mrs. Mary Ann Simmons, Ms. Donna Yeager, Mrs. Cheryl Boggess, Mrs. Maria Chamberlain, and Mrs. Laura Kinder. The bridegroom's parents entertained the wedding party, family and friends at Gatherings.
The couple is now residing in Dexter. Mrs. Stone is a 2000 graduate of Dexter High School and 2004 graduate of Southwest Missouri State University. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and is currently employed by Progressive Insurance. Mr. Stone is a 1996 graduate of Dexter High School and 2000 graduate of the University of Missouri- Columbia. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Order and is currently employed by Sommer Brother's Seed Company. The couple is planning a honeymoon trip to Jamaica in November.
