Sara Ann Guethle and Christopher Michael Crocker were united in marriage during a candlelight ceremony at Dexter's Sacred Heart Church on the evening of July 10th.

The bride is the daughter of Harlan and Brenda Guethle of Dexter and the bridegroom is the son of Michael and Cathy Crocker of Jefferson City. Grandparents of the bride are Martha Guethle and the late Ray Guethle of Dexter and the late Earsel and Josephine Thompson of Benton. Grandparents of the groom are Richard and Catherine Vaughan of Jefferson City and Ruth Bechel and the late Robert Bechel of Holts Summit. Father David Dohogne officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a shimmering two piece embroidered white satin gown, adorned with beading of sequins and crystals with a cathedral train. She carried a small white bible which the bridegroom's mother and grandmother had also carried in their weddings. The bridal bouquet was made up of colonial white and cream roses, orchids, calalilies, lilies and stephanotis adorning the keepsake bible.

The altar was accented with two large flower arrangements also composed of white roses, orchids, calalillies, lilies and stephanotis. Ferns sat at the front of the altar to compliment the flower arrangements. The mother of the bride was escorted down the aisle by the bride's two brothers.

The bridegroom escorted his mother down the aisle followed by the bridesmaids accompanied by the groomsmen. Attending the bride as maid of honor was friend of the bride, Sarah Freund of Missions, Kan. Matron of honor was cousin of the bride, Stephanie Burch of Sikeston.

Bridesmaids included Amy Kaston of Crystal City, another cousin of the bride, and Nikki Goodrich of Clearfield, Utah, Andrea Essner of Dexter, and Kara Lovelady of Dexteri, all friends of the bride. The bridesmaids carried bouquets similar to the bride's and wore stunning two piece periwinkle dresses that mimicked the bride's dress.

Serving his brother as best man was Casey Crocker and groomsmen were Caleb Crocker of Jefferson City, the bridegroom's brother, Michael and Aaron Guethle of Dexter, brothers of the bride, and Brandon Roller of Jefferson City, friend of the groom, and Jake Seiffert of Jefferson City, a cousin of the groom. The bridegroom and groomsmen wore black tuxedos with a silver vest and Windsor tie. The flower girls were the bride's goddaughter, Sara Jane Burch, daughter of Stephanie and Brad Burch of Sikeston and the bride's cousin, Mary Beth Knudson daughter of Diana and Chris of Chaffee. Ring bearers were Alexander Burch, son of Stephanie and Brad Burch of Sikeston and August Knudson, son of Diana and Chris of Chaffee, both cousins of the bride.

Serving the couple as ushers were Devon Guethle of Dexter, Matt and Andy Guethle of Arnold, all cousins of the bride, along with a lifelong friend of the bride, Kevin Louder of Dexter. Serving as candle lighters were Anna Whiteman and Willa Fees, both of Jackson, cousins of the bride.

The bride's aunt, Peggy Thompson of Ste. Genevieve, and her cousin, Steve Jennemann of Pevely, served as lectors during the evening Mass. Katrina Prance was vocalist, and Mary Ruth Boone served as organist.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's family at Weekender's Restaurant of Dexter the night prior to the wedding. A dinner and dance reception hosted by the bride's family followed the ceremony at the Sacred Heart Church Hall. The hall was decorated around the head table and was accented with smaller bouquets and silver candelabras. The round guest tables were covered in white table with matching chair back covers. The tables were adorned with different collections of silver candlesticks of varying heights and designs. The four- tier periwinkle wedding cake, made by Phyllis Menley of Dexter, was accompanied by the bridegroom's cake which consisted of two cheesecakes made by Jane Pfefferkorn, aunt of the bride, of Chaffee. The reception dinner was a full meal prepared by the Huey family of Dexter.

The bride is a 1999 Dexter High School graduate and earned her degree in 2004 from Truman State University in Kirksville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in the field of Graphic Design. She is currently employed on campus at Truman State, assisting the Dean of Students.

The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Jefferson City High School in Jefferson City and having completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in the May of 2003. He is currently a studying at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Following a Mexican honeymoon in the Riviera Maya compliments of the bridegroom's family, the couple is at home at 507 South First Street in Kirksville.
