Berta Jean Wallace Aslin, 71, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at her mother's home in Bloomfield. She was born May 21, 1933, in Sikeston and lived a wonderful life in many locations across the country. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with services following at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ron Dunavin, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield officating.

She was baptized and married in the First Christian Church of Bloomfield and lived the next 47 years with her husband and favorite companion, Clinton Harold Aslin, who preceded her in death.

After graduating from Bloomfield High School, she attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. She married Clint on June 18, 1954.

She is survived by her mother, Gertrude Patrick of Bloomfield; her daughter, Anna Dele and her husband Josh Cohen of Arlington, Va.; son, Clint and his wife, Terry, and their son, Anthony of Mead, Okla.; and her brother-in-law, Gorty Aslin of Bloomfield.

Always a joyful person with a warm smile, she focused on her family, art and volunteer work. Her pride and joy was her grandson, Anthony, and she was looking forward to the birth of Anthony's twin sisters this winter.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield, the American Cancer Association, or the charity of your choice.
