Safiya Jalal, daughter of Dr. Reza Jalal and Dr. Mekha Reza of Dexter, was born on Feb. 12, 2004, at Cape Girardeau and died on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at her residence in Dexter at the age of eight months.

Besides her parents, survivors include grandparents; one brother, Hamza Jalal, and one sister, Sabriya Jalal, both of the home in Dexter.

Services were held at the Islamic Center of St. Louis on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, with interment following at the Lake Charles Memorial Park in St. Louis.
