Donald R. "Don" Coleman

Donald R. "Don" Coleman, son of the late Joe E. Coleman and Ruby Mae McCormick Coleman, was born in Dexter on Aug. 4, 1943, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at the age of 61.

Mr. Coleman had resided in Dexter most of his life. He owned and operated Don Coleman Construction Company. Mr. Coleman served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

On July 21, 1962, he was married to Judy Whitledge in Bloomfield.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Coleman of Dexter; one son, Michael Coleman of Oldfield; one sister, Alice Faye Pruett of Kenton, Tenn.; and two grandsons.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel with Rev. Phil Warren of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors by the Stoddard County Veterans Team on Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Phil Warren officiating.

Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
