Roy Dale Rice, Jr., the son of the late Roy Dale Rice, Sr. and Annie Higgins Rice, was born Nov. 20, 1931, at Heber Springs, Ark., and died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Southern Missouri Healthcare in Dexter at the age of 73.

Mr. Rice was the owner/operator of Rice Auto Repair Shop.

He was united in marriage to Lorene House on June 30, 1953, at Piggott, Ark.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Rice of Malden; five sons, Ricky Rice, Danny Rice, Dennis Rice, Dale Rice, all of Malden, and Allen Rice of Bloomfield; five daughters, Darlene McGee Patti McDowell, Cathy Merritt, Sarah Reed, all of Malden, and Anita Lively of Campbell; one brother, John "Slim" Rice of Malden; two sisters, Juanita Hemerey of Rose Bud, Ark., and Ruthie Moore of Malden; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Stacy Rice.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at First United Pentecostal Church of Malden.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at First United Pentecostal Church in Malden with Rev. Leroy Young officiating.

Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Malden.
