Ilene Hitt, 88, of Advance, was born Jan. 17, 1916, at Cape Girardeau, the daughter of the late Comelous and Althea Zimmerman Cox and died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at the Advance Nursing Center in Advance.

Ilene was a homemaker and a member of the Advance Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Ilene and Everett Hitt were united in marriage on June 13, 1936, at Jackson, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2002.

Survivors include one son, Lloyd Hitt of Brownwood; two daughters, Eula Bowling of Dexter and Lois Tweedy of Cape Girardeau; a brother, C.G. Cox of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Virginia Smith of Advance; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son; four sisters; and two brothers.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Morgan Funeral Home in advance.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with Harold Althen officiating.

Interment will follow in the Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.
