Jean Yeager, daughter of the late Gabe Pointer and Ida Neal Pointer, was born Jan. 15, 1925, at Bernie and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at the age of 79.
Mrs. Yeager was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter where she served as a nursery worker for 34 years, a former employee of Paramount Headwear in Dexter for 30 years, and a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to Eugene C. Yeager on Jan. 11, 1947, at Caruthersville. Mr. Yeager preceded her in death on June 4, 1987.
Survivors include one son, Steve Yeager of Dexter; one daughter, Debbie Yeager of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Hayley Yeager, Taryn Yeager, Eric Mathis and Aaron Mathis; one sister, Thelma Plympton of Waterford, Mich.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Pointer, Henry Pointer and Byron Gabe Pointer; and four sisters, Eunice Reeves, Nora Pointer, Dora Pointer, and Julia Burke.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.
Funeral services will then be conducted at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
