She was raised in Dexter and had lived in Michigan from 1942-1980, in Texas from 1980-1986, and in 1986 she returned to Dexter. She was a retired plastics factory worker where she made lamps. She attended the Emmanuel Baptist church in Dexter.
On Dec. 9, 1933, she was married to Dallas Davis in Dexter. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1967.
Surviving are one son, Dallas Eugene Davis of Warren, Mich.; one daughter, Phylis Murphy of Dexter; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin and Elvin Martin, both of Washington; and one sister, Louise Brady of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by one son, Freeman Davis in January 1996; one great-great-grandchild; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Bro. Joe Murphy of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
