Robert L. "Bob" Hoffman, the son of the late Elmer Henry and Mina M. Neal Hoffman, died at the Big Bend Care Center in St. Louis on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at the age of 78.

Mr. Hoffman was a former resident of Dexter and a graduate of Dexter High School. He had been a resident of St. Louis for many years. He attended Washington University and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia White Hoffman of St. Louis; two sons, Donald Hoffman of Washington State, Richard Hoffman of St. Louis; three grandchildren; and one brother, Floyd Hoffman of Dexter.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at 1 p.m. in the Kutis Afton Chapel in St. Louis.

Interment followed in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
