Shirley Ann Baker Cobb

Shirley Cobb, daughter of Mary Bessie Purcell Cobb of Dexter and the late Robert Harold Woodruff, was born on Oct. 14, 1941, at Dexter and died at her residence in Essex on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the age of 63.

Mrs. Cobb was a former employee of Elder Manufacturing in Dexter and a resident of Essex most of her life.

She was first united in marriage to Kenneth Baker in 1958 at Dexter. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1985. Mrs. Cobb was then united in marriage to Charles Cobb, Jr. in 1986 at Essex. Mr. Cobb preceded her in death.

Besides her husbands and father, she was then preceded in death by one son, Edward Mike Baker; one daughter, Charlotte Ann Baker; and one brother, Billy Woodruff.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Bessie Woodruff of Dexter; two sons, kenneth Allen Baker of Essex and Jimmy Ray Baker of Pocahontas, Ark.; one sister, Linda Wallace of Hartland, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, with Rev. David Hardin officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
