William D. Walker, son of the late Charlie Walker and Ethel Penny Walker, was born on Nov. 17, 1908, at Gainsville, Ark., and died in the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the age of 96.

Mr. Walker was a self-employed farmer, a member of the Sadler's Chapel Methodist Church in Dexter, and a resident of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Geneva Glassgow on Feb. 13, 1931, in Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Walker preceded him in death on July 16, 1997.

Survivors include two sons, William Jerald Walker of Crown Point, Ind., and Charles Allen Walker of Dexter; three daughters, Betty Lou McBride of Dexter, Dorothy Sue Issacs of St. Louis, and Carolyn Marie Dube of Columbia; two brothers, Frank Walker of Dallas, Texas, and Ellis Walker of Detroit, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Prentis Walker and Hayes Walker; and one sister, Cartherine Walker.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, with Rev. Wendy Downing officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.

Memorials may be made to the Sadler's Chapel Methodist Church in Dexter.
