Mr. Green was a retired farmer, a veteran of the United States Army serving in the infantry during World War II and a resident of rural Bloomfield.
He was united in marriage to Hilda Ellen Dockree on May 5, 1944, at Barnstable, England. Mrs. Green survives of the home near Bloomfield.
Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, David Vern Green of Bloomfield and Glenn Alvin Green of Puxico; one daughter, Kathleen Ellen Green of Puxico; one brother, Lowell W. Green of Bloomfield; three sisters, Edmona Evans of Puxico, Ernestine Helen Button and Ethel Eunice blue, both of St. Louis; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Parks officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Puxico.
