Gabriel Ryan "Gabe" Sweeney, son of William Sweeney of Dexter and Janet Sadler Smith of Dexter, was born on Feb. 28, 1979, at Sikeston and died in his residence at Dexter on Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at the age of 25.

Gabe was an employee of ArvinMeritor in Dexter.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Janet and Eric Smith of Dexter; his father and step-mother, William and Melinda Sweeney of Dexter; three brothers, Adam Sweeney, Eric Hendrix and Andrew Sweeney, all of Dexter; his maternal grandmother, Carzenia Sadler of Dexter; his paternal grandmother, Mary Sweeney of Dexter.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at the Bernie Cemetery with Father David Dohogne officiating.
