Harold E. Gromer

Harold E. Gromer, the son of the late Ernest S. and Addie O. Mason Gromer, was born in Morley on April 6, 1927, and died at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at the age of 77.

Mr. Gromer was a resident of Bernie and had lived in Essex and Southeast Missouri all his life. He was a member of the Word of Faith Christian Center in Bernie.

On Dec. 21, 1946, he was married to Imogene Williams in Bloomfield.

Surviving are his wife, Imogene Gromer of Bernie; one son, Roger Gromer of Dexter; three daughters, Janie L. Gromer, Connie D. Gromer and Charlotte Yates, all of Bernie; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Cecil Gromer of Columbia, Charles Gromer of Dexter, and Allen Gromer of St. Clair; four sisters, Mary Gromer and Virgie Allen, both of Dexter, Dorothy Edwards of Essex, and Ann Pruett of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Alva Gromer.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Hartle of Bernie officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
