Delma Obards

Delma Obards was born at Idalia on June 20, 1919, and died at Poplar Bluff on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at the age of 85.

Mrs. Obards spent all her life in the Idalia and Bloomfield communities. Mrs. Obards was an excellent cook and loved to cook for her family and friends. She was a member of St. Joe General Baptist Church in Idalia. On Oct. 10, 1945, she was married to Cecil Obards, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1991. One brother, Edsel Edwards, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Louis Obards of Bloomfield and Lynn Obards of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Don Cooper officiating.

Interment will follow in the Elliott Cemetery near Bloomfield.
