Gertrude Phillips Stevens

Gertrude Phillips Stevens, daughter of the late John Phillips and Ida Robey Phillips, was born Jan. 31, 1914, at Dexter and died in the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center at Dexter on Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at the age of 90.

Mrs. Stevens was saved and baptized in 1956, a former church nursery worker, and a resident of Dexter.

Survivors include one son, Marvin Stevens of Dexter; and four grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Dennis Stevens; two brothers, Albert Phillips and William "Bill" Phillips; two sisters, Alma Sadler and Dollie Phillips.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Leist officiating.

Interment followed in the Hagy Cemetery.
