Louise Henson, the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Ruby Harvey Griffin, was born in Clarksville, Ark., on Jan. 25, 1922, and died at the Pine Lawn Residential Care facility in Puxico on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at the age of 83.

She had moved to Southeast Missouri in 1932 and lived in Puxico most of her life. She was a member of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church near Puxico and enjoyed piecing and quilting quilts for many years.

On Feb. 22, 1941, she was married to Paul J. Henson in Vanduser, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 1999.

She had worked as a clerk at Puxico Mercantile, and she and her husband had worked for Watkins & Sons Funeral Service from 1964-1994.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Ann Henson of Festus; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pauletta and Willard Reese of Conway, Ark., and Nelda and Bill Burge of Puxico; seven grandchildren and spouses, David and Melissa Burge of Cape Girardeau, Scott and Kelly Burge of Puxico, Rebecca and Paul Roberts of Alpena, Mich., Joshua Reese of Cheyenne, Wyo., Rachel Reese of Townsville, Australia, Leslie Henson of Festus, Lori and Reggie Williams of Puxico; eight great-grandchildren, Colby, Brooke and Taylor Burge, Reese and Hannah Roberts, Clay and Makayla Harty-Williams, Mandy Williams; three sisters, Jean Roberts and Dorothy Arnold, both of Bedford, Ind., Edith Parks of Puxico; five brothers, Arch Griffin of Memphis, Tenn., Tommy Griffin of Cedar Park, Texas, M.E. "Bud" Griffin of Bedford, Ind., Glen H. Griffin of Lees Summit, and Carl "Dub" Griffin of Puxico.

She was preceded in death by one brother, J.H. "Buss" Griffin; and one sister, Hazel Griffin.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with Elder Don Adams of Matthews, Elder Ernie Cate of Puxico, and Elder Paul Roberts of Alpena, Mich., officiating.

Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
