Blanche Jones, 94, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

Born July 26, 1910, in Bloomfield, daughter of the late Charles and Mae "Babe" Hibbs Mayo, she was a member of the Rauch-Spence Methodist Church and had been a private duty nurse before retiring.

She was married to Orville Paul Jones; he preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1981.

Survivors include one son, Harry Jones of Lincoln City, Ore.; one daughter, Virginia King of Sikeston; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Jones; three brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation was held from 12-2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Ponder Funeral Home.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston with Rev. Harold Norton, pastor of Senior Adult Ministries at First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
