John Bansept

John Robert Bansept, son of the late John and Elizabeth Bansept, was born on June 6, 1934, at Landers, Wyo., and died in the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Memphis, Tenn., on Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at the age of 70.

Mr. Bansept attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Bernie, was a veteran of the United States Navy, was a former cashier in a convenience store, a member of the American Legion and a resident of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Trellis Weathers on Aug. 14, 1982, at Denver, Colo. Mrs. Bansept survives of the home in Bernie.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Terry Bansept of Westminster, Colo., and John Henry Bansept of Canyon City, Colo.; two step-sons, Clyde Weathers and Donnie Weathers, both of Bernie; two daughters, Judy Couldry of Arlington, Wash., and Cheryl Strange of Cheyenne, Wyo.; one step-daughter, Donna Marie Weathers of Lakewood, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two step-sons, Kenneth Weathers and Jerry Weathers; one daughter, Debra Bansept; and one brother, George Bansept.

Visitation was held from 5-8 Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Dr. Richard Konichek officiating.

Interment followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
