Beatrice M. Gowen, daughter of the late Charles Edward and Lulu Smith Tucker, was born in Clinton, Ark., on Feb. 18, 1922, and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at the age of 82.

As a young girl, she moved to Bragg City where she graduated high school. In 1939 she moved to Grayridge where she lived until moving to Dexter in 1996. She was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and had been very active in her church.

On Aug. 2, 1941, she was married to Raymond F. Gowen in Bloomfield.

She is survived by one son, Billy Ray Gowen of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Wanda Sue Griffin and Paula Jean Jones, both of Dexter, and Donna Joanne Mansker of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Harold Vern Tucker of Mer Rouge, La.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by three brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Bro. Dale Grissom and Bro. Clyde Jacques of Dexter officiating.

Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
