Betty Marie Clifton, 68, of Lee's Summit died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs.

Born Aug. 25, 1936, in Grubsville, daughter of the late Archie Grant and Mary Jane Minker Pierce, she graduated from Grayridge High School in 1954. She was the owner and C.E.O. of Delta Sweeping Company for over 30 years and a member of the Blue Springs Country Club.

Survivors include two sons, Keith Owings of Lee's Summit and Robert Clifton of Kansas City; two daughters, Valerie Holland of Blue Springs and Brenda Howerton of Normal, Ill.; one brother, Glenn Dale Pierce of Essex; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, one brother, Norman Grant Pierce, and one sister, Norma Jean Pierce preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the Highland Park Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
