Carl Davis, son of the late Howard Roscoe Davis and Maude Morgan Davis, was born on June 22, 1929, at Shook and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the age of 75.

Mr. Davis was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, a former teacher at Dudley, had served in the Dexter Public School System as teacher, administrator, and as superintendent from 1979-1981. He was also a member of the Stoddard County Retired Teachers Association.

On Nov. 19, 1949, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Wilkerson at Piggott, Ark., and to this union three daughters were born. Mrs. Davis survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Marsha Adams of Dexter, Carol Davis and Lisa Robertson, both of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Delbert Davis of Poplar Bluff and Bob Davis of Stillman Valley, Ill.; two sisters, Betty Morgan of Poplar Bluff and Pat Witt of Springfield; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Vyron Yount officiating.

Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery at Shook.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
