Steve Long, son of the late Ben Long and Dona Harmon Long was born on October 13, 1952 at Bernie and died in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at Poplar Bluff on February 19, 2005 at the age of 52.

Mr. Long was affiliated with the Bernie Church of the Nazarene, a auto-body mechanic with Allen Christian Buick in Dexter, had formerly operated his own body shop in Bernie and had been a longtime employee with Cecil Auto Sales in Dexter.

Survivors include two sons, Jason Long, of Bernie and Joshua Long, of Springfield; by three brothers, Huey Long, of Kansas City Kan., Harmon Long, of Bernie and Douglas Long, of Santana, Kan.; by two sisters, Mary Long, of St. Louis and Sylvia Sneed, of Springfield.

Visitation was at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5 - 8 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2005. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2005 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Don Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
