Mrs. Helton had been a cashier at the Poplar Bluff Wal-Mart Store and had worked in retail for much of her life. She was a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to James R. Helton at Cleveland, Ohio, and he survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, James David Helton and Robert John Helton, both of Dexter; one brother, Joe Whitaker of Dexter; two sisters, Betty Stevens of Washington, D.C., and Margaret Colove of Dexter; and two grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Whitaker and John Whitaker; two sisters, Dorothy Carter and Lillie Mae Whitaker.
Mrs. Helton was cremated and no services are planned.
Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
